Beth Sowell PhotoAfter working 30 years in the “corporate” world, Beth Sowell retired from Bell South/ATT on June 29, 2007.  Coincidentally, this was the same time that Drs Hillier and O’Neal, who had been her pets’ doctors for 16 years, decided to open up their own clinic just a few miles from her home.  Beth had always thought that she would like to work in a veterinary hospital when she did retire.  It was a match meant to be!

When Beth retired from BellSouth/ATT, she was the General Manager- Network Operations for the CentralAtlanta district, managing technicians and managers responsible for engineering, constructing, installing, and maintaining telephone facilities.  She began working at SFAH on July 9, just one short week after she retired from the company where she had worked for 30 years.

Beth graduated from Georgia Tech in 1977 with a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering.  She earned her Master’s Degree in Management of Technology, also from Georgia Tech in 1996.

Beth is a native of Oak Ridge, Tennessee and is married to Gary Sowell, retired Director- Information Technologies for BellSouth.  Beth and Gary have two “four legged” children.  Missy is a 5.5 year old Pomeranian/Shih Tzu/Lhasa Apso mix and Bonnie is a 5 year old Shih Tzu.  Both dogs were adopted at the approximate age of 1.5 years and have brought tremendous joy to their lives.

Beth’s tireless energy and positive attitude are contagious.  She and Wanda have invented and now co-manage the front office.
